Default Uprated camshafts in 2wd cosworth

Hi guys, was wondering what the story was with uprated camshafts in cosworths, a friend of mine has a BD10 and a bd14 for sale but wondered whether was worth hassle, make any difference and if would be suitable for my car.

My car is a 2wd saff running stage 3?

Cheers

You will need valve cutouts for a BD14.

The standard exhaust cam is good for 500bhp so i wouldn't change that.

If you don't have valve cutouts the best cam you could use is a AB07, it has almost as much lift and duration as a BD14.

bd8 is standard , i plan to use the bd8 / bd14 set up for around 380ish bhp have been told its not needed but i am going with the thought of it makes a big change in a pinto engine so can only make it better i would think

I'm running 550bhp and 531 ft/lb of Torque and still have a standard exhaust cam.
