Calling all taxi owners advice needed

Rit I'm in a dilema re my interior.

My car is a 88 sapphire, it has grey carpet, grey dash but came with leather seats and door cards. They're mint too.

My dilemma is, do I leave it as is for now one day hoping to find a good enough cloth, or do I put a black dash in (carper too if I could find one??

I really don't know what to do :wall:

Cheers. Jim.

massivewangers 15-11-2011 08:24 PM

Tricky that I must say. I actually really like the cloth, so would be tempted to hold out for one I think!

Big_Mike 15-11-2011 08:32 PM

You know it makes sense to stick around for cloth! If anyone can find a decent set. It'll be you. It makes sense to have cloth in a 2wd saph!

I hope you do find a set, so i can have your minty leather set

KSA-Cossie 15-11-2011 08:33 PM

If I hadn't had leather in mine I'd have liked the late spec rainbow cloth .

J1mbo 15-11-2011 08:47 PM

HMm, might leave it as is! Just cloth is hard to come by when mint

Big_Mike 15-11-2011 09:06 PM

that's concours condition.... yes lol

Rax 15-11-2011 09:13 PM

Rs classics maybe worth contacting.Broken up loads recently, one being my old black one  That had leather from new, black plastics, dash, carpet etc.It was an early dash with no holes.Car was 89 and I dont remember the carpet having any holes in it either.

The black dash and leather interior feels more Executive but you cant beat the cloth for comfort imo. Mint cloth 2wd would be my thoughts i have leather in mine and thought about swapping but the black dash seems so correct.Tough one.

WongRS 15-11-2011 09:37 PM

Black dash it, police cloth......yum ;)

J1mbo 15-11-2011 09:37 PM

Opposite do you have a cloth aswell as leather then?

J1mbo 15-11-2011 09:38 PM

Police cloth is filth

opposite lock 15-11-2011 09:41 PM

No but i sat in a cloth interior saph not long ago and just fell in love with them but not as keen on the grey dash now i,m used to mine . I do love a cloth Recaro still got my limited edition Fes turbo ones sat in me conservatory had em years lol .

ajamesc 15-11-2011 10:48 PM

charlie luciano 16-11-2011 08:51 AM

Thread title will get you no where in your quest for advice young man

Chip 16-11-2011 10:35 AM

I like the cloth but its bloody hard to find in good nick now.

Phil2002 16-11-2011 11:06 AM

I might have a black carpet and black plastics for sale if the price is right?

Karl 3dr 16-11-2011 11:14 AM

And I've got 2 black dash's lol

lee2cossies 16-11-2011 11:45 AM

How about a late spec cloth from a 2wd with darker bolsters leather door cards and black dash? That's what mine came with.

maxest 16-11-2011 11:49 AM

I'd hold out for a mint cloth trim

J1mbo 16-11-2011 12:39 PM

Think I'm going to hold out lads, would be nice to take her back to original!

Karl 3dr 16-11-2011 01:10 PM

Tbh, I'd swap back to grey dash and cloth if I could find a mint set.

J1mbo 16-11-2011 02:56 PM

Thats the problem, they seem to be as rare as a mint leather these days

R4N SS 16-11-2011 03:24 PM

fuck that - leather and black plastics all the way :top:

its as the ol saying goes, "once you gop black, you never look back"

james kiely 16-11-2011 05:43 PM

jimbo all 2wd saffs need cloth and ambers ftw

J1mbo 16-11-2011 05:58 PM

James, I think you should part with yours

RSGARETHW 16-11-2011 06:20 PM

Jim bob, quite simple really, whatever the car came with, is what you should have in it, easier to sell on with right interior, looks a genuine car, and it will always piss you off knowing you have the wrong trim lol

james kiely 16-11-2011 06:26 PM

i,ll think about it mate,

one like this ?

opposite lock 16-11-2011 09:08 PM

Ah man that interior looks lush James and them seats are well worth the buy it now price considering the rareity now .

J1mbo 16-11-2011 09:21 PM

Seen them Mark, dark grey though :(

J1mbo 16-11-2011 09:23 PM

FFS! Just seen them pics James :( I'm jealous :(

BigErn 16-11-2011 09:25 PM

Cloth for yours defo Jim, unless the leather is minty mint with no sags or cracks and peeling door panels it looks a bit shit IMO.

My cloth isnt as mint as James' but its pretty tidy once its cleaned up and is loads comfier than the leather too I reckon
