Default Genuine ford oil filters

I have been doing some work on my car today, and found the small oil leak which was pissing me off.
The culprit was the 2wd genuine ford oil filter bought a few weeks back, EFL298, it was leaking around the seam of the "can" part to the base, not terrible but weeping all the same.
A new mahle one is going on now.

I normally only use mahle oil filters on everything, I just used this as it was only going to be on the car for about 500 miles(running in).
It might be my imagination, but I'm sure the ford oil filter dropped the oil pressure around 5 psi over the mahle.
I found why the oil was so cold, the wax stat in there is marked 74C!!
I've tried since friday 10 june to get some help from think auto who do mocal coolers, to send me piccies of the different types as the one new stat(92C to 104C) is wrong and doesn't fit, but many promises no piccies, about what I expected from the uk firms, must be a real bad recession with them trying really hard for every extra sale.
I know it's not a lot of money (£8 or so) but is indicative of the firm it seems not to bother.

I've used dozens of Motorcraft oil filters without issue at all. Best IMO.
