Default Voltage opinions?

Hi,

I currently get 13.24V at idle with NO load, I get 13.30V at the alternator itself, however when I turn on blower, heated rear screen and headlights I get 12.75V at battery and 13V at alternator, so my question is what is everyones output at idle?

With that little difference I don't suspect the battery to alt cable being the problem.

13.30V to me seems a little low considering thats with no load, the alternator was tested a couple of years ago and and they said it was fine, they did replace the voltage regulator for me though as the other one was a little loose, so my question is what is everyones output?

The voltage does not increase with revs either.

Any help would be appreciated.

Nothing wrong with those figures, the voltage won't always increase with speed, more so when the amps are being gobbled up, I always say so long as 12.8 maintained at 2000rpm with everything on then it's fine.
Mine was no load 13.3-13.4, and dropped to around 12.6@idle with loads, reaching 12.9@2000rpm.

anyone else have to blip the throttle on starting to get battery light to go out?
my readings are similar to yours but i maintain just over 13 volts at idle with load

Never have to rev it, I should think thats a lazy diode thats the problem, does your idle ok when you startup? I used heated rear screen, heater on pos 2 and headlights to put under load if I turn heated screen off then it's around 13V so same as you.

no i have to rev it for a minute to keep it going, i had a fault with the tps settings thought id sussed it as i found ive got 4x4 ecu and 2wd wiring so swopped the wires round on tps and my coldstart and iscv started working again, then i came to it next morning and have no coldstart but appear to have idle correction once running for a few minutes! bloody cossys
