engine specs

But surely that'd cost a fair few quid mate??
And i'm STILL not convinced a .48 housing does 380bhp...
#42
Your more than welcome to come up and watch a engine on dyne next time we have one on, or I can show you some graphs.
#44
Don't get me wrong, i agree 100% with the headwork, 4x4 Inlet and inlet cam, i'd love to do that with my setup tbh, i bet it'd be a different car again??
Daft thing is i have the 4x4 Inlet sat here doing fook all...

Get it on there then
If you measure the back pressure on a .48 housing your wouldn't want to take it much further.
The thing is when you spec and build a proper engine, you can tail the boost off and it will hold the powerin there, so its not so drastic as a poorly specced engine where you have to hold the boost in.

Yeah probably but the question was best road spec not price, you could do it without the studs and wrc gasket and porting, but the beadwork makes it so much better, the studs and gasket are just overkill so that it will never have a problem, we still have a lot of customers go this route with new builds though.

T38 ones and and t34.48s and t34.63s
Whats the most power youve seen on a t34.63??
I had a black saph the other year that had one of your t34.55 light blue conversions and it was lovely didnt miss a beat had a dyno sheet with 382/372 iirc or there abouts at 29 psi peak and 27 psi held
On our old rr it did 355 hp and 360 lb ft but at a little less boost so about right..
That was long studded wrc gasket 34.55 nick wapples head 4x4 inlet light blues bd14 inlet 8 ex 7.6.1 cr..very nice little engine but had done two turbo before me in 12k and one on me in 2.5k..

Id guess around 370 with similar torque, its not just figures though these conversions are awesome on the road

I sold the engine on here end of last year begining of this and you commented on it then??
That was our old dyno mate but actually read high if anything!!lol
It was a quick car on the road and held around 4 psi on the road too

Jimbo, as you know i've been lucky enough ti have some lovely cars, BUT i've laways said and this is my opinion, the best road going car for me was my old 3dr running T34.48, Greys etc etc NMS live map @ 32psi peak made 363 and similar torque and it was just fantastic, SO punchy.. obviously if i'd of had headwork, Cam, 4x4 Inlet etc it'd of been even better, but for near on stick on mods, best one outhere imo..

Imo the best power for the road is a well specced gt3071.82 engine 450/450+
It comes on as well as the above specs and the bang is obviously harder but the power more linear to the rev limit
My gt30 spec engine that iv done comes on boost and has as much torque up to 4k as my nms built and mapped escos and after 4k will obviously murder it!!

It was a 2wd black saph lovely car i bought of here from retro al..your old man done loads to it ..

This in a 2wd car is ace

is there any point having a fully ported head on nigh on standard engine or is it just overkill.mines running stage 3 t34/.48,with restrictor which i want removed 500 cooler and cone filter.

I agree its all you probably need but for me imo its not enough,i get bored with this power after a couple of hours and need more!!

This is why I'm not having a t34 engine and something more similar to a 3071.

that was my thoughts, ive got a 200 block here that i wanted to build up in the future and was going to use my 2wd head on it.been taking great interest in this thread for the best spec to use,are tuners running close to standard compression these days?

I remember going to lydden hill last year when i drove that same saph iv mentioned above and after a day of gooning it around in my race car i had to drive home in the saph..
It felt like a rolls royce to drive so quiet and smooth but my passengers said fucking slow down you loon as i was in the red line every where!!lol
Felt like i was going backwards after driving my red one!!
cheers danny

I think (don't quote me on this) it's to increase oil to the head (I'm guessing the front is a main oil feed for head) it's also done slightly different when using solid litters

Regarding what gear it was ran in I had that argument with TOTD on the day, the car ran a 3.9 cwp too but they insisted the DD manual says that ALL cars whatever the gearing are run in 3rd.
The boost would peak much higher on the road than it did on the dyno that day but I wouldn't of expected much more power
