Fuel rail and Thermostat question
I have a 2wd sapph Cossie and was wanted to know if there was a difference between the fuel rails in the 2wd and the 4wd models or are they the same, also which thermostat should I have in there ?? and would having any engine mods make any difference to that at all??

2wd and 4wd fuel rails are different, they mount to the inlet in a different position, also 4wd fuel regulator screws onto fuel rail,i think as standard they came with 88 degree thermostat, alot of people change this to a 82 degree one to help engine temperatures.

Does it make any difference to the fuel rail if you have the 4wd block instead of the 2wd one??
So the 4wd comes with the 88 degree thermostat or is that for the 2wd??
Are the 2wd fuel rails the same for the 3 door and the sapph's then or are those different as well??

no make no difference which block you use as the fuel rail mounts to your inlet.
in sure both came with 88 degree thermostat, but im sure somone will correct me if im wrong

As said Saph and 4x4 fuel rail is different and the latter better due to being mounted to the rail where as 2WD connects by a hose which perishes and leaks but more dangerous if it sprays onto something hot (I.E turbo) it ignites and has been known to cars.
I think the standard stat is 86 degrees and as said there are 82 degree stats available so they run cooler.

Standard stat is 88C, the "special" 82C stats are in fact FOCUS thermostats from certain years, they do nothing to protect the engine at all, a temp of 88C or 98C for that matter is not a problem, 82C stat is yet another gimmick that's not needed.
