I'd not use a T4, they are quite laggy. You need to be able to rev the car more than standard to make the most of them. Seems a GT3071 will give you 400+bhp and be alot nice on a road car.

As for diffs, front get a thickwall casing and an ATB. Rear ATB and then worry about 3rd gear exploding all over the road in your gearbox

I'd also not use a T4 due to lag and the hard hit it comes in with, the trans is a bit weak on 4wd, so a softer hit would be better, maybe a BB T34.63 ?

A front diff plate would be the cheapest option there and a 2wd rear end is cheaper than an atb 7 inch rear diff and then its just the box but if you ran a gt3071 and a spacer on the 4x4 inlet plenum you can get a realy smooth power at circa 2bar boost that wont kill everything,my road escos has 380 hp with 370 lb ft and is doing fine with over 20k on that set up with all std transmission, just make sure you uprate the engine mounts..

cheers danny

I've some form of weird T34 on my car, nobody is quite too sure what it is lol. I plan on going for a GT3071 next year though as it'll do all i ever want. The thing with a t34 .63 is that you can't really get over 400bhp with them whereas a GT3071 will do 450+.

Mark Shed was able to get big power out of a sapphire with a GT30 on it with not much engine work - standard head, uprated cams and pistons IIRC. It was 480bhp again IIRC. Owner is on here but i can't remember his name

If just road then i'd scrap the above Spec and go T34.48 for awesome punch and drivabilty AND reliability too.... and save yourself some pennies.

I have a TT T35.63 Live map, 72lb Siemens and it's a hoot of a road car, peaking @ 33 psi so it gives a great kick uo the ass too..

Well in that case pal i'd forget about the T4 idea....

A T34 car especially with a .48 housing and some 55lb Injectors live map will be awesome, trust me, i had that Spec 5yrs ago and it was fantastic...

lol mine is my road car and its on autronic with gt35 and 1000cc injectors and im going to get a hart inlet and a remap soon aswel lol

its mapped at 2.2bar by mark @MAD and its a great set up full boost is kicked in at 3600rpm and starts making boost around 800rpm before its very lively for a big turbo car and is more punchy then some t34 cars ive been in

the best thing for a standard engine imo is a t34.48 with blues, 3 bar, cooler etc, and it will make for the best road car, 370/80 bhp and similar torque, not much lag at all and will fly, for a weekend toy its plenty of power and as danny has said the transmission will just about hold in one bit, we do so many of these conversions and every customer has absolutely loved them

Mark,

Sorry mate, but imo a T34.48 is a great road car, i'm not knocking your spec but a GT35 can't be called the perfect road car...i think a GT3071 that Mark does would suit you even better than your 35 setup too mate..

I'm just thinking about the original posters transmission too Mark imagine a standard 4x4 on a GT35... a gearbox a week,....

lol im not saying its a bad conversion as ive been in a nms live mapped car with your set up and its a great conversion...

but trust me there aint much difference between the t34 to the gt30 at all ...

my mates escos with t34.63 i feel needs revving more than my car due to being low comp plus mine is mapped realy well on autronic...

and this is why most tuning companys are pushing decent gt series turbos as they are a nicer set up ... can run more power with no more lag

well my gt35 starts making boost alittle after 2500rpm and makes full boost around 3500rpm....

but its specced to my engine with standard compression...

and pete i would never had spent the money buying the gt35 but id never been in a car with one .... but now i will never have anything else and a mate of mine that built a same spec car with a t4 says mines on boost nearly 1k earlier ....

i will find out this week as the engine mounts are knackered at the mo but im ordering a set of mounts and new boost pipes with proper claps ect...

then will put back on a dyno next week but its ment to be 525bhp as it stands when it runs the 2.2bar but we will see....

but even with the boost pipe leaking and only holding 1.5bar it rapes my mates mk2 frs with js400 kit fitted so im happy lol....

but plans are
remap / service/ hart inlet
cts big tooth box with uprated folks and hydrulic clutch from reyland
have the dent fixed with full respay
then some big brakes and comps

oh and with the car loosing all its boost and only hitting 1.6bar and holding 1.5 still made 414bhp and 416lbs@3900rpm

but is mapped to 2.2bar so should see 500bhp
