A friend of mine has a Toyota Litace 20 turbo diesel fitted to his sierra. He says it`s from a Carina though. With its original ford type 9 gearbox mated via a custom made adapter plate and custom engine mountings

well with the low emission zone kicking into effect in jan 2011 - the p100 dervs are not allowed in these zones - hence why so many are converting to petrol engines or a more efficient derv engine

Is that a common rail engine or rotary pumped one with a throttle cable?

the gearbox and mechanicals is the easy bit, how will you run your PD/common rail engine? which loom and management will you use? how will you get past the imobliser?

M3 Motor Company in Bathgate (BMW specialist) built my transit recovery truck and fitted a BMW 325tds, remapped with a bar of boost and a front mount, 170 - 180bhp. It is mounted to the transit gearbox. Not really relevant but anything can be done if you're good at fabricating, wiring etc or you have enough money to pay someone else ha.

he would need the loom, ecu, keys, dash and gearbox speed sensor (as a minimum) to get it running

If its got a throttle cable then its easy, if its a PD or drive-by-wire then thats were it gets complicated
