Im sorry but I really had to laugh out loud when I saw the 'tags' at the bottom of the page
Sorry to read your woes mate....as previously said, bang a list up of everything you need and Im sure some of us can help. Ive got a pair of gen ford rear discs that you can have (either collect from Derby nr jnc25 M1, or pay postage or meet at a show), they've probably only done a 1000mile tops, and they'll soon clean up....it's not much but its a start.

right...........
strip it, completely
wiring out to a bare shell
get shell welded properly
get shell painted
re fit / re wire car
put new brake lines etc on
put engine back in
you got a nice 3dr.
take it from me, stop sending it to people who will "have a look" and "see what we can do". it needs to go to specialists to be done. this may be slightly dearer in the first place, but will save you a hell of a lot of money in the long run!!!

If the shell is that bad then break the car and start again but ask around for known good cars to start with.
If you really like the car and want to make a go of it then strip it to a neasr bare shell and rebuild it properly, most have been there at some point, maybe not as many problems granted but it takes time.
This was mine after 14 days of ownership
And 2 years on

I agree with @Char1ie starting with a solid one is far less of a pain on your wallet and your mind. Did you ever see the film the money pit with Tom Hanks ?
My last Sapp took me a long while to find but it was in a decent shape, so i knew that all i would be doing was some light cosmetic work o and rebuilding the engine twice, but that was down to me and some heavy canning
But still whats done is done, money spent is money invested and a car is not an investment that normally pays out the same amount you invest into it, no matter what you hear on wheeler dealer . I have spent a pretty penny over the years on cars and i do it becase of my passion/addition for fast fords not for making or saving money. I have written 3 cossies off and each time rather then pulling the shells and rebuilding them, i found another car and bolted on the old bits or in one case, I rolled one of my 3 doors, just did a complete reshell. each time is more about what undamaged parts i have and how much its worth, not what i invested in it.
I mean look at my situation now, i just moved back to the states again and i have these choice for feeding my Cosworth addiction:
A: buying one of the 50 escort cosworths that where imported into the states back in teh day
B: source a LHD 3 door RS500 and ship it across as a limited edition
C: wait 2 years till the sierra cosworth hits its 25 th birthday and import a LHD as a antique.
Now i am gonna hold out for 2 years becase i am gonna have a whole loada choice in 2 years rather then paying over the odds now for a limited section.
But i digress from the topic slightly, @pauloopnorth mate your gonna do what your gonna do, just think of all you options and hey if one of them means something extreme in the short term it might suck, but in the long term you will be better off.

P.S like @TurboShed says, get your welding skill on!
