Default l600 ecu ?

I keep hearing l600 being mentioned, is it just a l6 with a baby board plugged in ? is anything else needed as i have 3 babys board here

I have one sat in my spare parts box. Just a pectal board in an L6 but not sure if the chip is different because of it.

what are the advantages ? will it make the ecu as fast as a l8
