That's what you get for learning english on Passionford. Mind you, the first day in the "real" england was quite hard, though. Thank god I found out that "can i bum you" is not an appropriate greeting before I approached that female border agency officer at Stansted Airport...

My bro had a similar problem, turned out to be the map sensor.

me and fixing cars dont mix, this car has been in bits more time than its seen the road, its really pissing me off now,you can fix it if you want but im trying filter and the other reasons suggested,if that dont sort it then i will get really tempted to get shut.

I'm not sure about the Cossie WeberMarelli stuff but on normal Fords of that age (EECIV) the MAP sensors occasionally packed up with similar symptoms. If you unplugged it, the ECU would run the engine from the other sensors (TPS, CPS). Not sure if this works on a Cossie and how prone to fail the MAP sensors are. The symptoms would be similar though

PS: I've only spent about 3 weeks in the UK in all my life but I've already seen more Scoobies there than I have in the other 25 years in Germany...
ill get my mate to have a look at then aswell then mate, dont think its fuel starvation,no spluttering or owt,it just stops running.

If it just stops and doesn't start again, that really sounds like crank position sensor.

would it not be worth while just phoning a specialist and finding a mate with a trailer and just taking the blow and paying for it to get sorted instead of just messing about with it spending money on things that arent fixing the problem?

If wanting to test MAP sensor, you could use the LED flash system, takes all of a resistor and a LED and some wiring. IAW only works if you have data stream compatiable software.

With reading this kosman i'd be checking the connectors on these wires and cleaning the pins and applying a little bit of vasoline, also check for breaks in the wires can get a bit brittle the age they are.

check fuel pressure regulator then mate. i had one that made the fuel pump make a horrible grinding noise, then would cut out.
