rear beam bushes removal!....help

Default rear beam bushes removal!....help

any tell me how to remove the bushes in the rear beam??thanks>evan

Is the beam still on the car? If so you can drop each side independently and place a block of wood above the bush... then jack the beam up and out it will pop. Am sure there is a thread on here somewhere mate.

That how I'd do it. Stick a rag on the wood if you have some nice paint on the beam.

Do the reverse to pop the new one in as well.

One of mine was stuck so hard that no matter what I did I couldn't get it out like this. Horrible job. I had to make a puller from threaded bar and it took me about two hours to get the second one out!

the beam is out of the car i was looking for prvious post but coud find none saying how to take stnd bushes out wen beam is off car>any ideas how to take them out wen beam is already removed??thanks

i used a 15 ton press lol, well my dad did.

getting the poly ones back in was an effort!

Long story and too difficult to illustrate without technical drawings It was a nightmare. TBH if I were you I'd go to your local Kwik Fit and ask them to press them out with their big press, and press the new ones in. Slip em a fiver for a drink.

yea mite do that been thinking bout biulding a press for edges no so dis mit just be the excuse cus have all the bushes to do in the car.thanks for all comments

cut the bushedges off with a knife then put it in a vise with a bit of pipe pushing and a support on the otherside that allows the bushing to extract free withuot hitting the vise. Simple job reallt.

same principle as this only with the big bushing and som imagination
