Welded would be the best option but not always the easiest/cheapest. I've got a bolt in one on mine which seems alright

Most of them do not bolt to floor centre, essential to triangulate to the floor if you want the best from it, personally for a road car I would always go for bolted in, as you never know if you need to remove it sometime and no bother if you do, easier than grinding one out and re welding it in.

thanks for replies, road car so best not weld it in,

so if i have bar bolted to tops of shocks?
then shorter bar from shock tops(welded to cross bar) to a plate which will bolt to centre of floor?
im saying bar actually mean pipe/tube sure its 30mm its also seamless
thanks again

I made this up

and welded a plate in the boot floor so it can be un-bolted in a few mins

I made this one from heavy gauge s/s tube. It made a really huge difference and only costed 20 euro to make it! Also it leaves room underneath so I can load stuff whenever I need!
