Default Lumpy running Cosworth??

Hi there.

Can anyone help me, Iv got a 4x4 saph and have just put in a set of 803 dark greens and a 803 chip that came with it, it idles fine and revs up qwickly fine but when I try and keep a constent rpm through the rest of the rev range its runs lumpy like on 3 cyclinders or something? I have renewed the sensors and and have new plugs gaped at 0.7mm

PS. Iv replaced the MAP sensor for a 3 bar one, It made it less lumpy but did not cure it?

PLEASE HELP ANYONE, ITS REALY ANOYING!!!!!!!!!

who made the chip?

to be honest, i never fuck about with unknown chips as you will be risking your engine.

you really need to know who made the chip to find out what the CO% should be at idle, as adjusting the co% screw on the ecu will change the whole map on the chip. if its wrong you'll be running too lean or too much fuel

spark plugs should be OK but i used 071's (ford's own on mine)

Never ever branch into either the map sensor line, or the fuel pressure regulator line, less chance of a split pipe that way,(less pipes), I realise you weren't to know this.
Do you have the map sensor pipe lowest point lower than the sensor itself, as it needs to be.
NGK iridium plugs are fine IF the correct heat range, ie colder than standard, I use IK27 myself, 071 are fine too but you lose a crispness with them, that you get with iridium plugs, really odd when iridium is such a crap conductor of electricity!!

I would personally put:

The fuel reg on left as it's closest to the reg

MAP sensor in the middle which i think is the only non-elbow type air fitting which comes straight out of the manifold, and is the factory position for, and closest to the MAP sensor too

Leave the fat oil breather PCV (positive crankcase ventilation - see http://www.burtonpower.com/technical...er_system.aspx for explanation) alone

Put your remaining lines (boost gauge/dump valve etc) using tees on the remaining take off

The order really doesn't matter so long as you have dedicated lines for your fuel pressure regulator and MAP sensor, as these can kill your engine if they come off.

Use new hose too. It's cheap insurance. Also, it wouldn't hurt to cable tie the ends of the air lines for extra security.
