Default ECU SWAP

i got an 4x4 cosworth (sierra) with the green cam cover and lambda sensor (L8 ecu)
can i put an L6 ecu from an 2wd cosworth in my car without damaging the engine?

So long as the chip is the correct one for your spec, and you reverse the outer wires on the tps connector, it will be ok.

2wd mapping usually differs from 4wd mapping because of the different manifolds. Although you can use the ecu, you loose the lambda and the knock sensor and you need to have the mapping setup for your engine. And you have to change the wires on the TPS and to get it completely right you have to change the TPS-sensor.

You don't "need" to change the tps, the 4wd version has slightly different internals as it has a idle switch, which isn't used on the 2wd, but will make NO difference it being there, just trying to save you money.
You can lose the lambda and still have perfect emissions without any problem.
