Andy Rouse RS500 BTCC Car
Finally pulled my finger out and with the help of some good people got the car back out after 10 years! Went to three track days, not completed a full day yet due to reliability issues, but when she goes....she goes! Not driven anything but a diesel transit for the last 10 years, the poor old brain sure has some waking up to do!
Put this vid up for a taster:

Also would like to take this opportunity to thank the 'good people' namely 'MIKE HALL' for all his work, its not an easy car to sort. Much appreciated Mike, thanks.
Cheers, Andy.

might be a silly question but are you the actual andy r?

Glad you like it. I'm not Andy Rouse, wish I had his driving skills! Don't think I will get out again this year, but thinking of competing in classic thunder saloons next year. They won't let the car compete in pre93 classic touring cars because the RS500 has been banned, just like first time around!
The engine has been out recently, after a new head gasket went on dyno and produced 505bhp at 2 bar of boost, not bad for an old engine. The likes of Julian Godfrey build these engines with 800+bhp these days, however 500 through the rear wheels is plenty of fun. Only been passed by a Radical so far, not bad for a 20+yr old Sierra driven by a complete novice.
The car was the second one built in 1989 for Guy Edwards (made it look like Andy's), in 1990 became LUK Shaun Walker's. Then it was owned by Stuart Jackson (check out the gallery at Turbosystems.co.uk, all the race sierra pictures are this car in different forms). I got her in 1995, restored the body work with help from Andy Rouse, no internet back then. I did try and use it back then but it never worked out. Will bring the car to some Ford events next year, will post when I know what's going on.

Too many posts.. I need a life!!
I love this car, a proper old school touring car, and its nice to see it being used for what it was built for Andy.
Mike certainly knows his stuff.
See you soon
