2wd saff still vibrating
my car vibrates really loud on over-run,ive checked loads of things, its not the engine or running gear, nothing to do with turbo dampers or wastegate penny etc,but its stopping me driving it now,it does it between 1500 and 4000 revs, and its slowly getting worse, could it be a wheel bearing, but ruled that out because it does only do it on over run, driving me mad now
help please!!
help please!!

As it's 2wd have you checked that the rubber boot is still attached correctly on the bellhousing clutch fork, I say this as mine pops off every now and then and it is seriously loud, but only ever on the overun, it vibrates on the alloy edge of the cutout through which it passes in the bellhousing.

what exhaust system have you got? sure its not touching anything, check the rubber mounts! also the engine mount bolts, i had a simular problem, ended up being the turbo to manifold lower bolts worked loose and vibrating, as mine didnt have studs to had to use nut and bolt etc, got the nuts from GGR and high tensile bolts from ebay, with new gasket.

cool would be a pain and i did it but check everything from the front to the back of the engine down to the propshaft gearbox bracket, bellhousing bolts, starter motor anything that could work its way loose.. what about the turbo oil return pipe? one of mine was loose could be anything untill its all been checked! you end up finding other things while looking for the main problem! one i did find on a mates was the oil baffle in the sump.. the bolts were loose inside and causing it to vibrate/rattle!

kosman i had a rumble on my old cossie and it had a scorpion exhaust, it turned out to be downpipe vibrating on gearbox bellhousing, there was a gap when i looked but when driving and you let off the gas the engine moves one way and it can touch.

i checked mine today and it has about a half inch if that gap,so could well be that, also one of the exhaust bolts on the turbo have been tightened but the other hasnt,i can see a clean bit of thread, and the other thread is rusty because its not been adjusted.
