Hello,
Ive just received 2 sets of spark plugs from Woodford garage for my standard 4x4 cosworth.
They are genuine Ford AGPS 071C FINIS-1120 834
The ones I have and the previous set I bought from Ford are
AGPR 12PP FINIS 676 2458
they will fit in the block but the electrode on the end is totally different.
Any ideas anyone?

hi,think the pp ones are double platinum with tiny electrode, the 071's need gapped diagonally(feeler gauge at angle)was told the 12pp's were fine upto 350bhp and sure they said best not gapping them, heard some bad reports about the pp's which ive a new set and to scared to use them so put i the 071's in,hopefully someone else maybe confirm this,col93saphcos

Well the 071C's have been in a week and the car runs like a sack of shit, it is really struggling to hold idle.
I put it down to phase sensor and Ht leads. I renewed all them and still the same.
I put the old plugs back in and it purrs like a kitten.
I guess my car does'nt like them....

Hi,
I had this same problem when I first fitted 071's to my sapphire, car would hunt up and down really badly at idle. In the end I put the standard PP8 plugs back in and it was fine, I was running about 330bhp on the PP8 for well over 2 years without any problems.
When I changed to blue injectors and upped the power to 380bhp I had the car mapped with 071 spark plugs in and it ran fine but was still slightly lumpy on tick over. I have just changed to a set of Denso IK31 plugs which I got from motorsport developments and the car now idles really well and feels much more responsive on the road. The Denso plugs weren't cheap but the car seems much smoother with them in.
