Default Anti Lag

I was thinking bout getting anti lag on my 3dr next year, got a couple of questions:

Im only running 350bhp so is it really worth it?
How much is it?
Does it do any damage?

Cheers

to be safe you need a special shaft in your turbo as it tends to get a bit hot, MSD can add anti lag to one of their chips for about £300 quid i think but the real cost is in the turbo shaft??

A Maram 247 shaft to be precise

If you have an L8 ECU, it'll need modifying to support antilag - if you don't have an L8, you'll need one, or an ECU that knows how to do antilag out of the box as there are alternatives.

Or you could just have the anti lag noise, like I have, and it's LOUD, as cozmeister can tell you, but different ecu needed, no turbo mods though.

You've just made me feel very, very old . I thought that anything like that was supposed to offer a performance improvement to warrant the need to carry it out .

It would work out cheaper to sell your own turbo and buy a Mar-m 247 shafted one outright...

In my experience, normal turbos are fine for mild road use. I have a lot of customers using ALS on road spoc turbos with no problem at all.

So presumably a 247 shaft is only necessary if you're going on track or other such activities?

You just need to prevent the temps from exceeding 900 deg C, so you would need to have something like a Defi gauge (with it's alarm warning) connected to the ALS switch so that it could turn it off when that temp was reached (if you didn't have this available in the ECU).

I'm getting anti lag after i have run my engine in. Getting a Maram shafted fitted to my T34 next week .

Went for a run in my mates saff with an MSD conversion the other week, its great.

The police don't tend to like it though, hes just got a section 59

Don`t you at least need a modified idle valve to?
Or you can run exhaust droven als?

I had this om my group N car and it`s d... loud.
I got it on my group A car to(can be seen in the next FF) But this does not work as well as the on in the group N car(pectel baby board and use the idle valve to add extra air at @ idle) on the grop car I have gems stand alone unit, and this does not add extra air true the ildle valve. It just have big opening om trottle and cuts of half of the fuel openings in the fuel jets under 3000 rev. (this is not a good solution) So I will opt. for a other system with idle valve on this to.

Does any one have a serious dealer I can contact to get all ths items and a chip customised to my specs. as I will not take my car over to england from Norway.

Cheers Kjetil

Unless it was a no-noise limit day, You would probably get black flagged tbh using ALS on track.

It is a great gimmick, but, it is very anti-social and WILL get you plenty of attention from the police if you're not careful like i wasn't.

No, not mine, haven't got any vids of it as yet, its great when you're accelerating through the gears down a dark road, you can get some huge flashes out of the exhaust when you change gear,

Twellsie,
The difference is I don't tear around housing estates all night long, and all day for that matter, with no exhaust like a few round here, I have never used mine on an estate, won't even use it near old people or pets etc, f**k me it's not hrad to do is it, lower the soft cut and hard cut job done, all I have done is put on one of my three maps soft cut at 3000rpm , then hard cut at 3300rpm, got bored so have taken it off now, modded yesterday so I can use low or high impdedance injectors now, as greys were only 2.25ohm.
