Default Intermittant speedo

Any ideas as to why a speedometer should start wroking intermittantly. When car has been left standing for a few weeks you never know if it is going to work, usually starts again after 20 miles of so.

sounds like your cables on the way out fella, where the cable goes in to the speedo drive on the box can become worn n rounded, causin it to work intermitantly

As above, and they often melt where they drop below the turbo shield as well unfortunately. On the positive side its not too bad a job to do and they are readily available.
