Standard springs for a 1988 2wd sapphire cosworth
I purchased the above car recently and im not sure what type of springs are on car now. They are black in colour and paint is worn. Car is sitting too high now. I require to fit standard ford shocks and springs. I have a full set of shocks ordered from a ford dealer.
Im told that previous owner changed springs & shocks to suit bigger tyres on 16" alloy wheels. I have a spare set of red coloured springs that came with car but i dont know if these are standard type or lowering type.
Does anybody know who can i determine if springs are on car now are genuine ford springs? Was ford springs black in colour? Are genuine ford springs available any where?

You might be able to get original springs from Ford, but depends on how helpful your dealer is, and whether there are any that he can get hold of.
Red ones are most likely after-market. The only way you'll tell if they're lowering springs is by measuring them and comparing them to what's fitted already.
