Advice needed on rebuild
i have just purchased a brand new 200 block. but im not sure what pistons to get??
at the moment ive got BD10's to go in the engine(but thinking of leaving the standard cams in), T34.48 housing (but hopefully going to upgrade to either T34.63 housing, or even a T38), 3 bar map, and greys.
but need some advice on the best compression ratio to go for (i was thinking of 7.5/1) and the difference between the different pistons you can get (ie Valve cut out etc)
when my mate rebuild his saff, he used standard cosworth pistons on 7.5/1 comp, T34.63, standard cams, greys, closed loop, is this the way to go??
any advice would be appreciated (hopefully looking for around 400bhp)
Thanks

Well you might JUST hit 400 with a .63 housing but i doubt it myself, if that's your figure in mind i'd go for a T38 imo, you'll see 400 easy..i have greys at present with a T38 and it made 428 bhp on the dyno, BUT the greys are on the limit i'm going for a GT30 setup in a few weeks though..and some 1000cc injec.
Are you building it yourself?? your mapper would be best to advise on cam choice imo... hope this helps a little...

A T34.63 will lessen your lag/boost threshold, vs a T38. Personally I'm planning on going the same way in the near future (depending on cash LoL) ie Greys and probably BD10s, to go with my T34.63. I find this turbo to be unnecessarily laggy for the power it gives on Greens.
Edit: feel I should mention that some people like to talk about not running a turbo "at it's limit" - ie. if you are supposedly better off running a larger turbo than necessary, that you should put up with the lag of the bigger turbo else you'll "shorten the life of your turbo" if you use one too small etc. Personally I think this is horse shit, it makes no sense when you think about it properly IMO.
