Default Boot locking problems

I have a RWD Sapphire cossie and am finding that sometimes after closing the boot (especially when it's been raining) the boot closes and latches ok, but the graphic above the Stereo shows a light indicating that the boot is still open. This is causing me problems as when i lock it via the central locking the alarm is going off all the time as it thinks some one has opened the boot.

Has anyone got any ideas how i can sort this???

somethimes the push button part of the lock sticks in - try getting plenty of spray grease or similar in it.

Like Uncle Henry said, its a common fault on the saphs with age

If you shut you boot & put your key in the lock to pull the button out, that will turn the boot light off on the instrument display.
