Hi I am new to this forum I got told about it from my mate who has a saff, and said he got loads of advice when rebuilding his engine. so here is my question.
I have been looking for a cossy bodyshell to rebuild over winter, origianally I wanted an escort but every escort i have seen have been been stupidly priced or sh!te. So I an considering a 3 door, But the 3 door I am looking at is a completly stripped bodwork looks good (not seen underneath) but the owner is using the ID on a brand new shell that he has found, where do I stand with dvla? are they going to look at it as a ringer? or will they just put it on a Q. I dont want to put 6 months of my time into something and when done it to come back as a worthless Q plate.
Any advice will be hugely grateful! Thanks Paul

Hi - been following some chats here and talk from a police mechanic on a similar car on ebay. My guess is that the owner will keep the reg and keep quiet about the shell change. Whatever happens, its unlikely you'll get the reg - sorry but I can't see it working out.

Thanks, Ive decided to knock it on the head and I think i will keep a look out for a decent resto project.
