Rwd cosworth misfire/running rich????
Posting on behalf of a mate.
His car has recentley to have a few problems after 2 and half years of problem free motoring!
heres what he has said about it-
Its fine on idle/does rev up and down slightly but nothing major but when you drive it its very flat but not all of the time!
When you decellerate it starts missing and jerks and smells very rich and its getting smoke on over run but its ok when your flooring it.
Its become heavy on fuel.
It misfires mostly on light throttle.
Car is running a superchips stage 1.
Tried changing water temp and charge air sensors and phase sensor but still its the same!
Anyone got any ideas what to try next?
Cheers for any help

i had a similar fault when i was runnin stage 1 i found that i couldnt drop the c.o(fuel/air ratio) below 3% i had my c.o meter sent away to be checked but was o.k i then changed fuel pressure regulator and was then able to set c.o. not saying this is your problem but i'd start with checking c.o reading and see if it'll adjust, good luck

ive had a similar prob, just at the wkend.
took a trip to Union garage, and found out i had a plug which was only half working when it wanted to.
so.......a set of new plugs, just for good measure and all is good again.
might not help, but have you changed the plugs?
