Default best RS500 spec intercooler

Just had my 3 door remapped with 1000cc injectors, L8 ecu etc and the one thing that was mentioned as being problematic was the quality of my intercooler. It is an RS500 spec one but not a very good one as inlet temps were sky high.

To be fair to the guys at Norris they did not try and sell me another one but have advised that I get a better one as quality amongst 'RS500 spec' intercoolers varies wildly.

Radtec have been mentioned as a good unit but does anyone have any other experiences?

I used to have a pace on mine, but was not running your level of boost, gave me no problems but have now fitted a genuine one and find that a lot better fit on the car and is very well built. Have also heard good reports on Pro Alloy ones.

I also have a forge one 60mm core and its really good, but the most recent doing the rounds is the pro alloy ones, never a bad word said about them, altho i find it strange that the temps were sky high because theres not a huge amount of difference on coolers especially if there all rs 500 size, but im no expert

ive got a pro alloy one 60 mm . never had a problem with high air temps .read about them as being the best for cooling in performance ford mag . they tested it against rs 500 original and pace and it kept temps lower than them 2 . hope that helps.
