also the blocks different 4x4 has a 200 block witch is stronger than the 2wd 205 block

2wd have centre piston pin this is why u get slap

Ford then changed to the offset design in the 4x4's


Most race pistons have a centre pin due to high revving etc etc

The 3 door 2wd engine has the offset pin.. the sapphire 2wd, 4wd and escort cosworth have a central pin..
