don't understand what you're trying to do?

the fan switch does not get 'power' - it just switches one side of it to earth to earth the coil for the relay that gives power to the fans

to test if the switch is faulty, just short the 2 connections and the fans should start. if they don't it's a fault elsewhere - probably the fuse box

Run an inline fuse and new wiring, with a new switch for the fan itself and have it running all the time when your driving, and switch it off when your parked etc...?

shorting the wires is the first thing i did thats how i know they are fucked anyway i bought a 4 pin relay today and rewired it from scratch and now they work as normal with the added extra of staying on even when you switch off the engine if the fans are still running unlike the standard set up of cutting out with the ignition of course my boss did me a little wiring diagram on how to do it

Glad you sorted it

But standard set up should run on after the ignition has been switched off if temps are high enough for switch to work, well both my saphs have done this anyway
