IS THIS TRUE??
Spoke to a guy today,don't really now him.Anyway he said he owns the only LEFT HAND DRIVE SIERRA COSWORTH RS 500 ever made and it's insured for £50.000.Just wondered if it's true or is he full of shit?

have asked this question a few times to people and have been told that tickford did some converting on stuff already manufactured ie,leather interiors,aircon and some other stuff,could be one got converted into lhd,the only lhd ones i have seen with my own eyes are touring cars,best was a Ruddi Eggenberger prepared example.
have seen lhd 3drs sold as rs500's by car dealers who dont know what they are talking about,one particular italian one a year and a half ago if someone buys it,thinks its proper,but doesn't know the score,they are going to feel peed off,when people who know put them straight.
50 grand though,thats proper wages!

fact, 1 RS500 was converted to left hand drive..
it was done for the customer but not done at tickford
last i heard this car was on mainland europe and not in this country...

have i seen the car ..no it was brought to my attention when martin lobb was the rsoc rs500 register and i never doubted his word as he was 100% top bloke ....
if you need any futher details maybe the current rsoc rs500 register martin thomas could help you

in Norway some bodey tryed too bild a RS500 LHD but somting about ABS "blok" not fitting with the second row of injektors in place .
And the RS500 in germany at Køln factory ( Micael Kranfus bougth it ) is an RHD - iw seen it with my own ays .. Black Texaco

Well, what if i would buy a rs500.(i am actually considering this) export the car to a lhd country, don't like the rhd driving position. So i ditch the dashboard, steering rack, clutchcable, loom and a few more bits. Find sierra lhd parts. And voila, fairly straightforward work and very possible that there are more out there. But the chassis number will ofcourse sort things out.
But do you consider it a valid mod or an absolute nono?
And can 909's be reffered as rs500's? or as sporty sierra shell?

I havn,t seen him since.He also said he runs a cossie breakers in TELFORD also owns a escort cosworth track day weapon and his dad owns an RS 200.
