Remanufacture of these will never happen
the values are high due to the lack of supply
if the supply came back the values would drop so there would be no point in bothering to have them made as you then couldnt get 1k plus selling them so by the time you have spent a fortune on moulds etc there would be nothing in it as you would need to sell thousands , and that wouldnt happen
Plus the "real" ones would always be worth more by the sad fuckers like me anyway , lol

Hmmm I don't know, I'm not saying there is a huge market for them but a company who already has the equipment to make such items would only need to make a mould and manufacture a bumper so it wouldn't be a huge outlay, the higher the pirces and the growing scarcity will end up with someone doing it. The only people that would bother about the vaules were the people trying to flog genuine ones.

I WILL NEVER HAPPEN , if it was as easy as you say it would have been done years ago
I tried to get the splitter done and gave up after 2 years hard work as we just couldnt get the quality right at a decent price , and a splitter is far easier than a full bumper
regards prices , Again i will say that even when anything is remade , the gen ones always fetch much more money as sad fuckers like me will always what the " real deal " so it realy wouldnt have any effect on the Gen items values
example ,Centra lock wheels
now can be remade yet the gen wheels still fetch good money
the remade items havent lowered the values of the gen items like we all thought it would

Regards quality, it's painted, so how could you tell the difference?
Will have to agree to disagree on this one I think, I am with you on the genuine parts value though.

I don't understand your logic? If Ford made that bumper in 1987 then I would hazard a guess that it is easy to make a bumper like that agian in 2012 if you had the right equipment, and a market/willingness to do it.

Having somthing made 20 years ago wasnt as expensive as it is today
yes engineering has moved on and made things a little easier , But costs have gone throught the roof
plus when you make anything from a mould , the mould costs thousands and can only be used for so many products before its scrap , and you dont get many before the mould quality dropps
Its the cost not the fact its hard to do

Reman won't happen as i beleive they didn't sell as fast as they thought back then so to do it all again when their are a massive decline in both 500 and 3dr cosworth since the 90's and the fact that hardly anyone makes reps like they once did.
i remember PJ's were selling them for £550 brand new a long time ago.
As for this bumper theirs a small window and i think Pauls offer is around the right price maybe a touch more but if listed on ebay you loose 10% straight away so if it made £1200 (which i think is what it would) after paypal and ebay have taken their bit you'll be left with a sniff over a £1k

True, but like I said above if you are in that business and you have that type of equipment is it not a massive outlay, and given that the standard prices are going up and up, you could remanufacture bumpers at a high cost and still sell them cheaper that an original item, obviously you'd still have to sell a good few!
Not that i really care tbh as I think they're overvalued as it is, but I suppose everything finds it's own value based on the current market.

I'm sure the original bumper are injection moulded? Which would mean one huge mould to mould a bumper, not many places have a injection moulding machine that big these days other than companies making bumpers for big manufacturers so another spanner in the works would be it would have to be done in another country.

I couldnt get the 500 splitters made anywhere in england unless i paid 20k for the mould and ordered a min of 1,000 items
so i assume it will be the same with a bumper

That's an idea! We have a few tools in work from china for the new Honda crv but their really poor quality and we've had our work cut out finishing them and getting decent parts from them!
Anyway don't want to spoil this thread good luck with sale, if I had the cash I'd buy it just as an ornament!
