Contemplating breaking my beloved car...........
I am having a bit of a dilemma, I seem to be throwing money after money on this project and I have lost focus. I am tempted to break up the car and cut my losses. The transmission, engine and shell would have to be sold before I would consider selling all the other parts. The actual car has only covered 12k miles from new and the engine 1500 miles since it was built by MAD. All the other parts are either brand new or newly refurbished.
FFD Sequential gearbox
FFD 7.5 front diff + mag sump
FFD 9 rear diff
Brand new 2 way Ohlin suspension (4k new)
Adrenaline rear beam (fully adjustable 6degree )
Adrenaline ADJ TCA
GRP A Tramac spec Front ARB
GRP A Tramac spec Rear ARB
AP Racing 6pot water cooled calipers with 378mm discs and pads
AP Racing 4pot calipers with 330mm discs and pads for rear fitment (inc brackets)
Compotmotive MOs Wheels + Dunlop DZ02 tyres
Shell
MAD 500bhp, 483lbs torque Engine
Aim Dash
ATL Custom bag tank Fuel Cell
OMP ARS Carbon kevlar bucket Seats x 2
Mag bias pedal box
GRP a quick rack Steering rack
RS500 inlet plenum
+ a lot more.

jamie ffs stay with it, can't belive you have gone this far , and then bail out
i know its your choice i could never go through that getting all the good bits then dont finish the project
I think you have picked the wrong site to sell these bits
shame really would have loved to see it finished
if you do break it how much for the front and rear anti roll bars

Mate, I really hope you don't break it as i saw it at Dannys, it is immaculate, and from the spec it looks to be it will be an almighty car ... What else needs doing to it to get it where you want it?

Carbon panels, new turbo, ecu, loom, full respray (due to new panels). So not a great deal, just money is really tight at the moment and I have been without her for 18 months now so I guess its just wearing me down spending so much and having no fun with it

jamie
dont get disheartend , once it done you will be glad you kept it , if moneys tight just do what i do buy some thing bit by bit rather than paying out all at one go
i know it's your car and all that , there was times with my 3dr i could have cut it up
it pissed me off so much , all i done i left it in the garage for 6 months cooling down period basically this was years ago i had a heavy duty clutch and cover that use to snap cables, ripped pedal boxes apart it wasn't untill harvy done an egine for me and told me what clutch to use i was glad i kept it in the end
there was no interneat about so back then early 90's most things was just trail an error and belive me i went through alot of that

Thank you for your support, its good to see there are still people on this forum who are passionate about these cars. It would be nice to finish it and share it with people - in a very non-big headed way. Ill see how I feel in a few weeks and make a decision then. Cheers guys

I would re organise the future plans on it. At this point the money spent on it is done etc so think to the future. Can you plan it in a way that will make it much more achievable and still fill your requirements?
Cost effective ways of doing this are scaling back the plans. Another very effective way of making it more feasible is to buy 2nd hand parts from now on in. Even if you abandon the project later the parts will still have the same value and may even rise.
To get enjoyment out of it you have to get it on the road. Forget the carbon panels etc just now, the spec is still amazing and will still be amazing on track etc.
Get it going, enjoy it and them maybe take on phase 2 later after you have got used to it in it's current guise and have a perfect setup etc.

I agree with what you are saying, and its definately an option. The problem with me is if I dont do things with 100% commitment I lose interest and if its not the best it can be again I lose interest. I all comes down to what sort of money I can get for the car. I wont sell for peanuts. Id rather struggle to keep it. If someone offers me good money for the transmission, engine and shell then it will be hard for me to say no at present TBH

in that casemate why not do what franco does and only do bits when you CAN afford it properly. franco is having the same problem mate and he did think of selling but has decided not to and just says he will do it when he can

I understand your feelings and its your call. But as you will may lose money that is already invested in it you may as well get a use out of it. There is no 100% with modifying cars and it is already animal spec. You could always go xtrac transmission, active diffs, mag rear arms etc etc etc but you have chosen a level. Now you just need to reign it in a little to get some use out of it. If you enjoy it do the other stuff later when you will enjoy doing it.
repeat - it is already animal spec, just incase you missed it the 1st time lol

Only problem with that is by the time mines finished, everyone will have 800hp engines as standard!
Moneys my biggest concern also Jamie, we have to weigh up whats more important in life (well i did!) and as Neil has said, it'll be done as and when!
