Just paid £50 for a 1.7 Zetec around 4 month ago

Very good condition saved it from been scrapped, reason for him scrapping was it had 167,000 miles and rear arches had just started to bubble..

Original engine
No history but just sailed threw MOT no advisories

My bargain so far haha

Ive got a 51 reg with 88k on the clock. Back arches are srarting to go and ive had some welding done at the back on the innwr sills.

 

My Puma Black has 152k on the clock!

My wifes 1998 - W Reg has 127k on the clock!

Yes, they both have bubbling arches on the o/s rear arches.

Both original engines.

 

If looked after they will go forever.

Its a shame the bloody arches rust.

 

Bought mine a couple of weeks ago with 107k which as a rule would put me off but it goes like a dream, no advisories on MOT though rear arch is bubbling. It's the highest mileaged car I've ever owned actually but I've heard if treated right the Zetec engine is bullet proof.

 

Highest I've seen was on 242,000 miles.
