Perhaps consider the 2.5 V6 Ghia X with RSAP body kit. These are essentially the same as the ST24 except they come with a few extra toys I think the suspension might not be as "sporty" on the ghia x but they're all interchangable.

Also a ghia would be cheaper to insure than a ST.

lol forgot about the wooden dash, but these are all interchangable parts!

The ghia x also comes with leather seats, heated front seats and electric drivers seat, cruise control and if you get a later one also has full climate control instead of just air con. I paid Ł1750 for my ghia x. The ST's fetch a lot more money too!

Pmsl!

It's not my house, and funnily enough I get out the drivers side! I park that close because if you don't leave enough room on the road i will end up with the side of my car missing where some old dear has reversed up and not looked where she is going!
Has happened before, but luckily.... not to my baby!

They are really comfy practical cars with nice bit a bit no lag torque. But they get no attention like an rs turbo does and get boring very quickly to be honest. I love mine as a daily driver. But I dont think it would ever have replaced my rs turbo or cossie.

I'm getting one too, went our for a quick blast with a guy from the meg site on sunday. Well impressed, shot straight upto 100mph (on a private road officer ) with ease, especially for a bulky mondeo. Also we were happily chatting whilst he was doing that speed, not having to shout over to each other as I did in my cossie & rst.

I'm going to see a couple this weekend, should make a nice weekend car for me and family (i'm feeling old, i'll be wearing slippers next )

Mine's gone now, and to be honest i really miss it apart from the sky high fuel bills. Still my RS2k still puts a smile on my face

Default Thinking of getting one

Hi people,
I am thinking of buying a mondy st200 what are they like performance wise. I had a Mk2 mondy si 20ltr about six month ago and it was a flyer and im missing the get up and go that it had cos im driving a mk6 escort 1600zetec at the moment. As some one said they are getting quite cheap to buy now and wondered if they were any better than the 20ltr si.

Alex
if your still looking for mondy, definately go for st24 and not ghia X, suspension is different, lower and stiffer. They ride so much better than ghias, the seat are sh*t loads more supportive, and half leather so you don't slide around so much. And you wouldn't need to see the naff plastic wood.

u will love it matey. it gets to silly speeds without any hassle, and at 3500rpm's the secondaries open up so u get a little kick in with more power.

as said though, they dont receive as much attention as an RS or cosworth.

although mine was ideal because i can meet up with mates and it blends in and when i'm at work it blends in with all the executive cars aswell.

saloons looks better though

I had a 97' ST24 saloon which looked just like a Ghia ......but then i fitted the RSAP kit and some BK 299 wheels and it transformed the looks of the car

Swappd it fairly recently for an ST200 which i love, and it's a hatch which is prolly more practical, but i do miss the old 24

Great cars for not a lot of money now!!!
