Default chip tuning

hello guys just want to ask about your opinion really..
what do you think is it worthy to install chip without remapping the 2.0tdci mondeo?
when i had previous car with chip in it (no remap) i ve noticed bit more power and better economy but i was just wondering if remapping is not needed as well to have better results..
all why i want to do it is better economy really i do not mind 0-60in 1s or im not an racer but if i can get 75-70mpg on highways and 47-52 in town why not increase it up to whatsoever..
many thanks
martin

Speaking correctly a chip or to chip a car was or is to remap a car. Just in the older days you had to physically change the eprom ( CHIP ). wheras nowadays cars have obd ports which enables obd remapping. I dare say the chipping your talking about is these stupid boxes that plug into the loom and interupt the messages what the ecu is telling the car with false readings. Some make the car think its permnanetly in cold start mode which adds extra fuel which while probably minutely incresing power on some cases causes them to smoke an awful lot more and buggers everything up. These boxes are not worth the money in my opinion. Do it right . do it once. Get a propper remap by a specialist that actually understands what and engine does and doesnt need and wherew and when. Evolution chips being one for example. Not some shit on ebay that the bloke will come out and do for 100 quid.

Default Seller answer about how is chip box working

Dear Sir,

the RaceChip won't influence the ECU in any case.

The RaceChip receives data from the ECU (control box from the car) and optimizes these. The Injection volume, duration of injection and the boost will be changed by the RaceChip.

Thereby you have more performance and torque.

We do not avoid any security systems on your car. So when the power is too much, your car will be shut down to the safety mode. Therefore your car is still protected.
