Hi just got a 2003 mondeo estate 130 tdci ghia x and after checking other threads on here i think i have a problem im only getting 25.3 mpg when i got the car it was giving 32 ish i do a lot of short jurneys and round town runs so i just took it the previous owner did a lot of motoway driving and took it with it being heavy estate and with me driving round town 25.3 was average but now hmmmm maybe i do have a problem. The car has done 170 k and was owned for the last 8 years by a company so has had every service all stamped in book, clutch and flywheel last year i have cleaned the intake manifold and cleaned and blanked egr off (euro 3 engine so no eml light) it starts first turn of the key with hardley any smoke if any at all no smoke when driving hard, temp sits inbetween quarter and half. I use redex with every fill up and i have tried the good old italian decoke good booting down dual carrage way using all rev range in every gear appart from 5th 6th lol.
any ideas or advice comments would be most appreciated.

Also when turbo kicks in at 200rpm the power seems to die then pull then die and so on maybe this could be related too

Hello mate i dont know if you have it sorted but i had the same issue on my previous car( freelander td4 and all it was just small hole on air intake hose. After i had that one replaced all power and performance went back to normal.
