Default Mondeo Alarm Keeps Going Off

The alarm on my 2002 Mondeo has started going off on its own, I'm wondering if when I slammed the driver door shut in anger the other day had something to do with it?

Is there ansensor switches on the driver door?

Just noticed it looks like some kind of switch on the pillar located on where the latch catches, could this be it?

yes. open bonnet.press bonnet switch until horn beeps then open each door individually ...you should hear a beep....then lock and unlock drivers and passengers doors with key(not remote) beep should be heard on lock and unlock action aswell

I think it's the switch under the bonnet playing up, it's the one by the latch yes?

My old mondeo had a faulty bonnet switch, I just cut the wires and joined them together.

You can enter into a test mode that chirps when you activate each door, bonnet and boot etc so it lets you know each sensor is working

Very common on the focus for the bonnet catch to play up. It happened on mine a few weeks ago, I noticed also when driving every now and then it would flash up bonnet open on the dash. I just unplugged it and bridged the wires in the plug together with a small bit of wire.

Just to clarify, you press and release, press and release until the horn sounds to say it's in test mode, not just keep it pressed.

But yes, nine times out of ten it's the bonnet switch playing up.
