Default Mondeo Mk3 Sweeping Dials

Hi,

Recently left my car in for a general service and when I picked it up I noticed that upon turning the ignition on, the dials on the dash all sweep around to the max and come back down to the start again. Also, the trip computer's information is reset (temp in FH, miles in KM, average miles etc reset). The clock is also not working. The car is turning over fine, never had any hesitation with starting the car.

I had this problem before and simply replace the fuse for the clock and everything worked fine, but this time it is not solving it. Is their anything that would have been performed in a service that could cause this?

Thanks for any help.

Thanks for your reply. My radio is working fine and didn't need a code entered. Would the radio not have needed the key code entered if the battery was disconnected?

It does this is there is no power to the dials

Is there a fuse for constant power for memory etc that may have blown?

if it does it all the time dojj is correct as its like losing the memory on your stereo so its reboots every time, but if it was just a one off then its nothing,

This is usually a sign of a bad battery, as the voltage drops below what it should when cranking.

Turn the ignition on
If the dials sweep you have had an interrupted power issue
If you then turn the ignition if and on again does it do it again?
Make sure you turn the ignition full off rather than just position one
