hi just bought a 51 plate mk3 mondeo 2.5v6 zetec s and have acouple of problems and hoping someone might have the answers

1: pain in the arse going into reverse but when you find the right place to select reverse it is all good am i right in thinking that it is one of the cables has stretched

2: battery light intermittently flashes on and then goes off have checked and the alternator is charging fine

3: was just out driving home and had to brake really hard on the motorway and then noticed that all my dash clocks etc stopped working and after about 30 sec all reset themselves by going to max and back down and then worked fine but now i have the esp light on perminatly

any answers or help would be great
