Default Idle dropping off

I have just purchased a 1996 Mondeo 2 litre ghia estate, and sometimes when you pull up or are changing gear the Idle will drop off to nothing and the engine will die, it fires up straight away again, Just wondered if anybody has any ideas, Plus how do you reset the E.C.U. Many thanks Simon.

Idle speed control valve, very common on the zetec engines. Whip it off and clean it with carb cleaner, if its no better then will need to be replaced.
