hello, any xr4x4s out there?
I'm new to this site, great cars and info but not much sign of xr4x4's on here!
I've just bought one and I'm lovin it although it does drink like a pre-transplant George Best!
lookin forward to trying it on the track this summer
I'll post some pics if it stops raining long enough to take some!

Welcome pirahna,
I had a xr4i(2wd), dad has a 4litre V8 xr4i, there are many xr4x4's on here I'm sure.
Nice cars my 4i was immensely thirsty too like 18mpg average, got a sapphy cos now and get about 8 mpg more.

apart from the comical petrol useage they are good cars, the engine is best discribed as lazy, it accelerates well even if in a high gear but doesn't feel fast in the way an xr2 (or similar) does.
with good tyres they grip really well and mine is difficult to slide unless really provoked, unlike the dohc saph I used to own
a good car though and faster than your average rep mobile
plus if you have a mint or well modified one they can still turn heads

I went o my 4i from a 2.1 pinto auto which was a humungus amount faster and better by a mile on the petrol, put a brand new engine in my 4i still crap with modded heads and cam, so LPG'd it much better !!
