I did originally post this in the main discussion section, but what with the speed at which things gets posted in there it was on the 2nd page before i could blink! ANYWAY, i took the front bumper off my xr3i project to find this:








Sooooo, basically i need to know what the damage is, how to fix it, how much it will cost, and can i do it myself on the driveway?

I've never been able to have a project car before, so im not the most mechanically minded person in the world, so im trying to do as much as i possibly can myself, along with the help of my friend

Very common problem on Mk4 escorts mate and not really a job for you if you are not handy with a welder as its quite a fiddly job and takes time if you are to do it right.

My advice would be buy a new front cross-member and get a mate who can weld to fit it for you or find someone that will do it as a homer as easy enough to do if you know what you are doing, done loads of these over the years
