Hi there buddy, i went from a saph to a st24 and must admit i was blown away with the beautiful power outlay of the 24 and i'm told it's better on the 200, but if your looking for the raw speed and accelaration of a saph then there is no way, but as for the drive, i have driven new alfa gt 3.2 v6 and must admit the mondeo feels smoother. plus is much better on fuel than the cossie, although try and get 1 with ffsh or at least done at a reputable garage, can go quite bad if not looked after. good luck
ps. you can pick a good 1 up for about £2500 30+mpg if your not driving like a loony

Can't see an st24 being faster than the escort monte unless it's been played with a bit, the escort should be capable of at least 150mph and standard st about 140, plus take a good bit longer to get there,

I had an ST24 saloon on a P plate which i loved, but swapped it for an ST200 last year and have to say its the nuts
It just handles and goes better than the 24 and i love the leather recaro's
MPG is not tooooo bad, and the insurance is quite high BUT, for the price you can get them for nowadays....thats a lot of car for your money

hiya matey, st24 owner here. gotta say the power is nice a smooth all the way to the top end, and as of yet i havent found a 200 that is faster than the 24.
main thing to check is the waterpump has been changed to the metal one as if the plastic one fails then it can take the headgasket with it and then you might aswell get a new engine.
just look out for all the usual ford bits that go wrong.
you wont be dissappointed.

I just sold a ST24 in white......... some 50 were ordered by the general public... now I own another ST24 this time in red. Why own two ST24 ?... handling, comfort, power, 30+ mpg ( sensible driving ), the first ST24 only had a bulb failure in 18 months. The current one needs.......... nothing. So good value for a lot of car.
