Engine swap Immobilizer battle!
Yo, I'm a relatively inactive member - mostly a browser but am in dire need of expertise here
Basically i've put the engine, engine loom and ecu from a 2000 mk1 2.0l 5 door focus Ghia into what was a 1.4 2002 3 door focus CL
My mechanic buddy Jim and I had all the physicalities of the swap bolted in and what have you but with the 2.0 ecu and key but the thing wouldn't even crank ! i don't know if its because we didn't change the immobiliser ring but there's some people that say its just a sensor and some that say its actually coded so does anyone actually know for certain ???
Put the 1.4 ecu back in with the matching key and it cranks but there's no spark ! :'(
Jim reckons that a new ecu, immobiliser ring and matching key/transponder from a facelift model will do the trick but there are just so many unknowns right now and I've been off the road for almost two weeks now having stupidly only budgeted two days for the swap
ps:- just so put minds at ease - the brakes/ suspension will be swapped over once i can drive it (carefully) to where the parts are stored across town and actually make my daily commute!!
i really am praying that somebody knows what to do to get this road eater running :/ !!!! any and all help welcome. at this point ill even accept a class A roasting if it'll get me back driving again.....

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
The aerial, transceiver call it what you like is not coded to the Ecu. They are tuned to work at a frequency. And pre 97 is differant to post 97.
But a Mondeo aerial will work in a focus ect of a similar age.
If you have the rdif chip from the key that was matched to the 2.0 ecu you don't need another.

The plugs although the same are not wired the same. They are just power supplies and earths and a few signals.
The hard part is tracing them back.
These ecu pin outs should match your Zetec e engine.
60 pin black top pin outs.
Enjoy
