Default Focus ST 2.5 boost problems

Hi,

I hope someone can help with my problem.

Firstly, I have DSCI cold air induction, big intercooler, and a Blue Fin remap.
My ST use to boost to 1.2 bars (18 lbs). Now I am getting max 8 bars (10 lbs). I am also getting a different sound from the turbo now. A zzzzzzzzzzz sound. No the car is not falling a sleep .

I checked all boost hoses and they are good. Vaccum is about 20. This is good.

The Symposer canister diaphragm was busted so I removed it and blanked off the hose next to the Bailey blower valve I installed.

Can someone tell me if these symptoms are for a faulty Boost controller solenoid. Or what else can cause the boost problems.

Thanks.

Try taking off the dump valve, they do give a lot of problems.

You can fit an ipd but some have had problems with these so I'd go with another standard ford one tbh

It's almost always one of the three. MAF, MAP, Boost Solenoid

Well, Yesterday I received the three sensors in the mail. I changed the BCS and still not getting full boost. Today I will change the MAP and I'll let you guys know how it works.

I am trying each one separately, so I can identify the main culprit.

Have you checked for fault codes with your Bluefin handset?

When I bought the car it came with the Blue Fin and for some reason, I am unable to access the diagnostic part of the blue Fin.

Might be worth giving them a bell?
Usually when they don't work it means that the fuse has blown on the odb, the handset is locked to another car, or the handset has the wrong strategy coding to communicate with the ecu.

Not 100% sure, but i think You can only access the diagnostic and immobiliser part of bluefin if you have registered the handset online with superchips.

I had to do this with mine to access it.

Hi Guys,

Just an update, I changed the MAP sensor and still the same problem, low boost.

I will change the MAF later today. But, I do not think this will make a difference with Boost.

Hi Guys,

I did further checks. I took out the Turbo, it looked fine, but the exhaust manifold was slack. I re-installed and the ZZZZZZZZing sound has stopped. Still low boost. But now I am seeing an oil leak from the exhaust Camshaft seal. I must replace both cam seals before I go further. I also took out the intake plenum and sealed it properly. Hopefully this should the boost problem.

By the way, does anyone know the Camshaft and Crankshaft timing marks.

you might have a faulty actuator? and get rid of the dump valve.

once you take the pulleys off the cams you're buggered. you have to use a special tool unfortunately.

If you leave the pulleys on, there are marks on the plastic cover and the pulleys themselves (they're very faint though)

crank mark is behind the pulley wheel for the aux belts. Think its a 30 or 32mm nut
