Default Alternator

Hi to you st lovers I need help
My problem is The alternator died so the AA man told me
I have now fitted anew one no problem in fitting the alternator
The problem I have now my battery light is ON
When you first start my lovely st which I have owned from new the battery Light goes out then after a period of time light comes on
The only other problem is my heated front screen will not work either
Can all you st lover please help sort my problem

New or used alternator fitted? Is this the Focus ST 2.5t or the ST170

It's more likely the smart charge system is at fault.

A common problem a break/bad connection to the three pin plug which connects to the alternator.

Ensure this connection is good and wiggle the wires.

thank you for your comments, I have now found the problem one of the spade pins In the alternator was bent over so it was making contact with plug have now straightened the pin an is working fine at the moment fingers crossed
