Default ST170 Cam Pulleys

Can anyone tell me what if any benefits would be gained from fitting these to my ST170.

Many thanks

with the 170 you only use one of them on the exhaust cam only. the inlet cam has the vvt so cannot be changed.

apparently the exhaust cam can give up to 10 bhp when retarded to 6 degrees.

im looking to do mine soon but most verniers come in pairs so if you decide to do it then id be willing to buy one off you or vice versa?

Sounds interesting, it's just I saw them advertised in this months Fast Ford as a new item, to remove the VVT ? and although I kind of know what that is for, I just wasn't sure if the modification was worth it ?

Have you ever driven a Focus with it done Steve ? as I would love to do a side by side comparison with another ST170

Well it would be nice to drive one that was 100% first lol one that genuinely made 170bhp.

ah sorry i didnt properly look at them. yes i seen that kit in the mag too. the vvt gets deleted on itb throttle body conversions as its not supposed to be easy to get a managment to properly run the vvt. to me thats a total waste of money has what iv read they only make similar power to a standard 170 then anyway. i think they then can run wild cams though to get the power up further but the cost must be stupid.it seems far more sensible to keep the vvt with throttle bodies and get a suitible managment to run it.

iv never been in a car with the exhaust pulley mod paul. iv only read about it.

i will be doing it for definite its just a matter of when i get around to it. ive emailed the company in the link iv put on to see if they sell them singular.

Thanks Steve, I think I'm just getting more desperate in trying to find a £200 mod that will make my car do 150mph

Going off topic Steve, but have you had your ST170 put on a rolling road, just to get a base figure ?
