Default 2006 Focus ST boost question

Hi I am back on this forum after a few years away (used to be jezsierra on here) from owning a ford, just bought a Focus st3 and just wondering what the boost to standard? mine seems to go to the 1st notch after about 2.5k revs then boosts to half way after about 4/5k revs to me this doesn't seem normal or is it? any help would be great thanks

That's what mine did when it was standard so nothing to worry about.

Get it remapped and get the needle in the red

Mine when it was standard boosted to half way quite easily, it sounds like yours is a bit laggy. Boost control solenoid is a common failure point and does give the symptoms you describe.

Ignore what I said then.

I remap wouldn't cover up a solenoid issue though would it?
Unless I've forgotten what mine boosted like standard as it wasn't like that for long.

Mine used to easily Boost to halfway as standard. peak Just over infact If I remember correctly.

You would still get lack of boost if the solenoid is playing up whether the car is remapped or standard. Just put a solenoid on mine a couple of month back - 15 minutes on a ramp

Could be, don't forget they also boost differently depending on how you are driving it. If you are giving it some beans after a couple of miles it will boost much quicker and stronger from lower down in the rev range, but if you are driving steadily it will compensate for this and again after a few miles it will start to feel a bit lazy, will come on boost slowly and give you more of a progressive surge in power rather than it all at once!
