Pipe Collapsing on ST170

Default Pipe Collapsing on ST170

This pipe comes from the throttle body and goes down behind the engine somewhere around the gearbox area which i cant reach. When i put the throttle on it collapses. So i know i need to get it replaced but doesn anyone know what its for?

This is the pipe and its located here in the engine bay. I should have said its an ST170 not ST2 etc

I have had a few 2.0 focus that have had a pipe go at the back and it caused erratic tickover. When I removed the pipe it seemed to be a crank breather and the build up of oil over time had rotted the pipe. Hope this helps.

does that mean its buggered or it just needs a clean?

They go soft and deform easily. Possibly better changing it
