hi guys,
ive just joined the forum and looks cool.
i have just bought my first ford focus st170, its a 3 door in panther black completley standard apart from a panel filter, the car use to belong to the managing directors wife of evans halshaw ford.
its done 63000 miles and has the optional comfort pack with black leather recaros and sub in the boot and all the other options, i think they must have ticked all the options boxes when they bought it which is cool,
i have only had the car for 6 days and it the engine warning light comes on and stays on .
if you disconect the battery it goes off but then comes on, the car drives fine so anybody got any ideas on where to go as im all new to this.

i dont know if the st170 is similer to the 1.8 mp3 model i had but check the coil pack as the focus are well known for them to fail.

i found out the hard way and replaced the plugs,leads and maf sensor before the coil pack.

do ur self a favor aswell,have the front wheels off,remove the arch covers and tack out the foam sound deadening as i found it held water and started to rot the inner arches

i got it plugged in today and it has a fault code p1516 which said intake manifold air control solenoid bank 1.
great, any ideas of what this is
