The 4 lives does mean it can be downloaded to 4 times to my car?

No, it means it can be used on 4 more cars. Evertime you change it to a different car, it removes a life from the handset. You can chop and change the maps as much as you like, and restore to factory as much as you want on the same car.

Only takes 4 mins to change the maps too, where the Bluefin handsets take considerably longer.
